Speeding driver caught in southern suburbs

A young driver has lost his licence after being caught driving at excessive speed at Lonsdale.
About 9.50pm on Saturday 27 June, police were conducting speed detection duties on the Southern Expressway when they recorded a Ford Falcon sedan travelling at 174km/h in a 100km/h zone.
The driver, a 17-year-old Morphett Vale boy was reported for exceeding the speed limit and was issued a six-month immediate loss of licence notice. He also had a passenger in the car with him.
His car was defected and he will be summonsed to appear in court at a later date.
