Man arrested after laser pointed at PolAir in southern suburbs

It will be alleged that about 8.20pm on Sunday 17 May, PolAir was flying in the southern suburbs when the officers onboard reported that a blue laser was being shone at them.

They identified the area where the laser was coming from at a house in Woodcroft.

When patrols arrived at the house, they spoke to a 41-year-old man who had been allegedly shining the laser at PolAir.

A search of the house uncovered the laser.

He was charged with possession of prohibited weapon and prejudicing safe operation of an aircraft.

The man was bailed to appear in the Christies Beach Magistrates Court on 6 July.
