Man charged after battery theft at Parafield

About 4.45pm yesterday (Friday 7 August), police saw a man carrying a large battery while walking away from a fire pump shed on Nobby Buckley Drive.

When the man saw police he started to run, but then stopped and spoke with officers who conducted checks on the 36-year-old Salisbury Downs man.

He was found to have an active warrant and he was also in breach of his bail.

The man was arrested for unlawful possession and being unlawfully on premises. He was refused bail and will appear in the Elizabeth Magistrates Court on Monday.
