Five teens arrested after crashing a stolen car

A group of teens have been arrested after allegedly stealing a car.

About 4.30am today Thursday 18 June, police spotted a Mazda sedan travelling south on Main North Road, Smithfield at high speeds.

Police spotted the sedan again travelling on Uley Road, Elizabeth Downs.

A short time later the sedan crashed into a fence on the median strip on Main North Road, Smithfield where five suspects were spotted running from the car.

Police located the suspects where three 14-year-old boys, a 15-year-old girl and 13-year-old boy were arrested without incident.

They have all been charged with numerous offences including illegal use of a motor vehicle.

Their bail has yet to be determined.

When police searched the car, it will be alleged two knives were located.

Checks on the Mazda showed that it had been stolen from a Brighton home overnight.
