Limestone Coast Police detected the following recent traffic offences.
At 1.15am on Friday 17 April, police stopped a vehicle driving without headlights on Penola Road, Mount Gambier. The driver, a 17-year-old Mount Gambier male, recorded a blood alcohol reading of 0.227. Police checks revealed he was disqualified from driving. He was arrested and charged with drink driving and driving disqualified, and will be summonsed to appear in court at a later date. He was also issued with an additional 12-month loss of licence.
About 5pm on Friday, a 44-year-old Mount Gambier woman tested positive to methamphetamine when pulled over by police on Sturt Street, Mount Gambier. She was reported for drug driving and will be issued with a three-month instant loss of licence and will have to attend court at a later date.
About 6pm on Saturday 18 April, a 34-year-old Millicent man recorded a blood alcohol reading of 0.086 when stopped by police on Mount Gambier Road, Millicent. He was reported for drink driving, issued with a six-month immediate loss of licence and had his car impounded for 28 days. He will appear in court at a later date.
At 11.10pm on Saturday, a 63-year-old Robe man was stopped by police while driving on Kokoda Drive, Robe. He recorded a blood alcohol reading of 0.149 – nearly three times the legal limit. He was reported for drink driving and issued with a six-month instant loss of licence. He will be summonsed to appear in court at a later date.
Just after 2.30pm on Sunday 19 April, a 41-year-old Mount Gambier man was stopped by police while riding a motorcycle on Lake Terrace East, Mount Gambier. Police checks revealed the motorcycle was unregistered and uninsured and the rider was unlicensed. The rider tested positive to methamphetamine and cannabis. He was reported for riding without a licence, drug driving, and riding an unregistered and uninsured motorcycle. His motorcycle was impounded by police for 28 days and he will receive a three-month instant loss of licence. He will appear in court at a later date.
At 6.40pm on Sunday, a 43-year-old Naracoorte man was stopped by police while driving on Alexander Avenue, Naracoorte. He tested positive to methamphetamine and was issued with a fine and a three-month instant loss of licence.
