Fatal train incident Woodville

Police and emergency services responded to reports a person was struck by a train about 5.50am on Monday 1 June near Hughes Street.

Sadly, the person died at the scene.

Traffic was blocked on Woodville Road while police investigated the incident but was reopened just after 8.30am.

Train services on the Outer Harbour, Grange and Port Dock lines were affected but have returned to normal time tables.

Police are preparing a report for the coroner.
