Teen seriously injured after falling from train

About 4.15pm on Wednesday 28 October, police and emergency services were alerted to reports that a person may have fallen from a train near Nantawarra.

A search of the area was immediately launched, with assistance from POLAIR.

About 5.15pm, the injured teenager was located on railway tracks near Beaufort.

Initial investigations indicate the 16-year-old boy had been hitchhiking on the outside of the train before falling.

The boy was airlifted to hospital in a serious condition. His injuries are believed to be life changing.

Investigations into the incident are ongoing.
