Police investigating serious crash at Hindmarsh Valley

A teenager has been seriously injured in a crash at Hindmarsh Valley this afternoon.

Police and emergency services were called to Victor Harbor Road, just south of Crows Nest Road, at about 1.50pm on Sunday 5 July after a Toyota 4WD and a Mitsubishi SUV collided.

A passenger in the Toyota, a 19-year-old man from Modbury, was critically injured and airlifted to hospital.

The driver of the Toyota, a 20-year-old man from Gilles Plains, and his three other passengers, aged 22, 20 and 19, were also taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

The driver of the Mitsubishi, a 43-year-old man from Hindmarsh Valley, and his passenger, a 35-year-old woman from Hindmarsh Valley, were also taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Victor Harbor Road was closed while Victor Harbor Highway Patrol officers examined the scene, before reopening at 4.30pm.

Investigations into the cause of the crash are ongoing.
