Weapons and drugs found after Hackney traffic stop

It will be alleged that just after 3.30am today (Friday 19 June), police stopped a black BMW sedan on Hatswell Street.

Police searched the vehicle and located a machete, a knife, methamphetamine and various drug paraphernalia including pipes, scales and small plastic bags.

The driver, a 36-year-old Modbury man was charged with numerous offences including trafficking a controlled drug, possess prohibited weapon and driving while disqualified. His car was also impounded.

He was refused bail and will appear in the Adelaide Magistrates Court today.
