31 Oct 2026 7:10am

A woman will face court after a crash at Gilles Plains overnight.

About 12.10am on Saturday 31 October, police were called to Wandana Avenue, Gilles Plains, after reports a Nissan SUV had collided with a pedestrian crossing barrier outside a childcare centre.

The driver, a 52-year-old Modbury North woman, was not injured in the crash. She underwent a breath test and allegedly returned a reading of 0.227, nearly five times the legal limit.

She was reported for drink driving and driving without due care, issued with a 12-month immediate loss of licence, and her vehicle was impounded for 28 days.
