Armed man arrested at Brahma Lodge

Following an extensive investigation and public appeal for assistance, Northern District detectives attended a Brahma Lodge address about 2.30pm on Wednesday 26 August and arrested a wanted suspect.

The 34-year-old man was found hiding at the property and arrested without incident.  When he was searched, it will be alleged he was in possession of four loaded homemade firearms.

Officers searched the premises and allegedly found evidence of homemade firearm manufacturing, a homemade slam gun, a homemade pen gun, various copper piping and water meters.

The arrested man was charged with six counts of possess firearm without a licence, possess ammunition without a licence and manufacture firearm.

He did not apply for bail and will appear in the Elizabeth Magistrates Court today, Thursday 27 August.
