Two men have lost their licences in the Yorke Mid North region.

About 9.40pm on Tuesday 27 October, Yorke Mid North Highway Patrol stopped a Mazda utility on Balaklava Road for the purpose of a driver test.

It will be alleged the driver of the Mazda, a 51-year-old man from Port Wakefield, returned a positive result for amphetamine.

He was issued a three-month immediate loss of licence notice and will be reported for drug driving and breaching his probationary licence, pending forensic analysis.

About 10.50pm, police stopped an Isuzu utility on Dows Road, Owen, for the purpose of a driver test.

It will be alleged the driver, a 26-year-old local man, returned a positive result of 0.165 – more than three times the legal limit.

He was issued a 12-month instant loss of licence notice and was reported for drink driving.

Both men will be summonsed to appear in court at a later date.
