Rider reported after positive drug test

Police were called to Village Terrace at Blakeview around 12.45pm on Saturday 31 October, following reports of dangerous riding behaviour.

PolAir was called in to search the area and tracked one rider who was travelling at speed and shortly after located on Wahroonga Drive at Smithfield. The rider was submitted to a drug test which allegedly returned a positive result of cannabis.

The 30-year-old man from Davoren Park was reported for riding without a licence, riding an unregistered motor vehicle and may face further charges pending further analysis of his drug sample.

He was issued a 3 month instant loss of licence and his ebike impounded and will be summonsed to appear in the Magistrates Court at a later date.
