Two men have been arrested after allegedly driving a stolen car in Everard Park.
About 2am this morning, Thursday 8 May Dog Operations member spotted a stolen Subaru sedan on Forrest Avenue driving in the opposite direction.
The patrol did a U-turn and by this time the stolen car had left the area.
Police searched the area and a short time later with the assistance of police dog Arlo located two people standing with the stolen car nearby on Norman Terrace.
A 23-year-old man from Everard Park was arrested with the second man running off from police.
Police searched surrounding streets locating the second suspect on Eurilpa Street in possession of a machete.
The 18-year-old man from Wynn Vale was arrested without incident, and he was charged with illegal use of a motor vehicle, hinder police and have possession of a knife in a public place.
The 23-year-old man from Everard Park was arrested and charged with illegal use of a motor vehicle and hinder police.
Both men were refused bail and will appear in the Magistrates Court later today.
Checks on the Subaru show that it was stolen from a Windsor Gardens home last month.
