A man has lost his licence after being caught speeding in the northern suburbs.
About 9.50am today (Saturday 18 October) police were travelling north on the Northern Expressway at Penfield Gardens when a motorcycle overtook the unmarked police vehicle.
Officers then recorded the rider at 155km/h in a 110km/h zone, as it dangerously wove in and out of traffic.
The rider was later stopped on Francesca Boulevard at Munno Para West.
The 58-year-old man from Peterhead underwent a driver screening test and returned a positive result to methamphetamine.
He was reported for excessive speed and driving at a dangerous speed.
He was issued an immediate loss of licence for 12 months and his motorcycle was impounded for 28 days. He will be summonsed to attend court at a later date and may face further penalties once his drug sample has been forensically analysed.
