Robbers busted in the Northern suburbs

18 Jun 2025 6:34am

Two teens were arrested overnight after an attempted carjacking in Elizabeth Grove.

Northern District patrols were called to Mofflin Road, Elizabeth Grove about 2.15am on Wednesday 18 June after reports that a rideshare driver had been confronted by two males. It is alleged that the suspects entered the Toyota hatchback and threatened the driver with a knife before trying to steal his car. The victim tried to flee from his attackers before handing over cash to the bandits who fled on foot.  The victim, a 39-year-old man, received a cut to his hand during the altercation and was treated at the scene by paramedics.

Following an investigation, patrols attended a nearby address and located the two suspects who were arrested.

An 18-year-old man from Blakeview and 14-year-old boy from Vista were charged with aggravated robbery. The 14-year-old boy was also charged with stating false details to police. Both teens were refused bail and will appear in the Elizabeth Magistrates Court and Youth Court later today (Wednesday 18 June).
