Man arrested after robbery at Elizabeth Vale

A man has been arrested after a woman had her car stolen at Elizabeth Vale last night.

Just after 8pm on Monday 15 June, police were called to John Rice Avenue after reports that two men approached a woman in a car park, threatened her and demanded her car keys.

Fortunately, the woman was not physically injured.

The suspects stole the victim's car and left the area after crashing through the car park boom gates.

About 11pm the stolen car was seen heading south on Main North Road before becoming bogged in a hotel car park at Salisbury Heights. Patrols approached and found the driver still in the vehicle who was subsequently arrested.

An 18-year-old man has been charged with aggravated robbery and illegal use of a motor vehicle. He was refused police bail and will be appearing in the Elizabeth Magistrates Court today.

Investigations are continuing with regard to the second offender.
