A drunk driver has been stopped at Hillier last night with a child in the car.
About 7.20pm on Saturday 13 September, police were conducting speed detection duties on Angle Vale Road when they detected a Holden hatchback travelling at 74km/h in a 60km/h speed zone.
The driver was stopped and submitted to a roadside breath test. He allegedly produced a blood alcohol reading of 0.229, more than four times the legal limit.
There was a child in the car at the time.
A 34-year-old man from Evanston Gardens was reported for drink driving offences and issued an expiation notice for speeding. His car was impounded for 28 days and he was issued with a 12-month instant loss of licence. He will be summonsed to appear in court at a later date.
