A man has been arrested after breaking into an Elizabeth South home overnight.
About 9.15pm Monday 22 September, police were called to a home on Penfold Road where it's alleged the occupant confronted an intruder who stole her handbag and fled on foot.
The occupant was not physically injured during the altercation.
Multiple Northern District patrols attended the area to search for the suspect.
Just 20 minutes later, officers spotted the man on Ridley Road who was still in possession of the victim's handbag.
The 44-year-old man from Pooraka was arrested and charged with unlawfully on premises, aggravated serious criminal trespass and theft.
He was refused police bail, and he will appear in the Elizabeth Magistrates Court later today.
Crime Scene investigators attended the Penfold Road property to examine the scene.
The victim's bag and personal items were returned.
