Police have arrested man after being caught drink driving at Angle Vale.
About 11.15pm on Monday 20 July, police and emergency crews were called to Angle Vale Road, following reports of a Subaru sedan crashing into a high-voltage electricity box, with the driver then seen fleeing the scene.
A member of the public followed the driver, providing timely updates to police.
Police quickly attended and located the driver, a 19-year-old man from Bowden.
The driver refused to provide his name to police and was arrested and taken to Elizabeth Police Station, where he recorded a blood alcohol reading of 0.164 -more than three times the legal limit.
The man was charged with numerous offences, including fail to give personal details to police, due care, and driving with excess blood alcohol.
He was issued a 12-month instant loss of licence notice and refused bail.
He will appear in the Elizabeth Magistrates Court later today.
