Arrest after Port Lincoln break-in and robbery

About 4.40am on Saturday 26 September, police were called to a business on New West Road after reports a man had broken into the store. The owner attended after being alerted by an alarm and disturbed the offender inside the premises. The suspect fled on foot empty-handed before police arrived.

Just after 5am, police were called to a service station on Hallett Place following reports that a man armed with scissors threatened staff before stealing cash and cigarettes.

The suspect fled the scene on foot. No staff members were physically injured.

After further investigations by local detectives and patrols, a 26-year-old Edwardstown man was arrested and charged with numerous offences including aggravated robbery and theft.

He has been refused bail and will appear in court on Monday.
