Driver reported for driving offences in city

21 Oct 2026 6:27am

A young driver lost his licence and car after speeding past police in the CBD overnight.

Police were at the corner of Pulteney Street and Angas Street, Adelaide at 3.30am on Wednesday 21 October for an unrelated tasking when a blue Toyota sedan drove past them at speed, and tooted its horn.

Police tracked the vehicle using CCTV as it allegedly drove through a red light at the intersection with Greenhill Road before losing sight of it in the backstreets of Unley.

It will be alleged the Toyota was travelling in excess of 90 km/h as it made its way through the city.

Patrols searched the area and caught up with the vehicle as it headed north on Unley Road, pulling it over on Greenhill Road.

The driver, a 20-year-old Riverlea Park man, was reported for driving at a speed and manner dangerous to the public, failing to stop at a red light and misuse of a horn.  He was issued with a 12-month immediate loss of licence and his car was defected and impounded for 28 days.
