10 Jun 2026 7:40am

Two drivers have been fined for speeding on the Augusta Highway at Warnertown over the June long weekend.

At about 5am on Monday 8 June, a 24-year-old Victorian man was detected driving a Toyota Hilux at more than 30 km/h over the posted speed limit.

In a separate incident, at about 3am on Tuesday 9 June, a 44-year-old Victorian man was detected driving a Dodge Ram at more than 30 km/h over the speed limit at the same location.

Both drivers were issued expiation notices of $1,841 and incurred seven demerit points.

Police remind motorists that excessive speed significantly increases the risk of serious crashes and urge all drivers to obey speed limits, particularly on regional roads.
