A woman will appear in court after she was allegedly found carrying a knife during a police operation at Arndale Shopping Centre yesterday.
About 3.15pm on Thursday 9 July, police conducting a declared shopping precinct operation at Arndale Shopping Centre located a 32-year-old Pennington woman in possession of a 10cm bladed folding knife.
The woman was arrested and charged with possessing a knife in a prescribed place and unlawfully possessing prescription medication.
She was bailed to appear in the Port Adelaide Magistrates Court at a later date.
The arrest occurred as part of a Western District Declared Shopping Precinct Day of Action aimed at detecting weapons and other offending in busy retail precincts.
During the operation, police conducted multiple wand scans across Arndale and West Lakes shopping centres, resulting in two other arrests , three drug related fines and two drug diversions.
South Australia Police will continue to conduct regular Declared Shopping Precinct operations to deter weapon-related offending and help ensure shoppers, retailers and staff can visit shopping centres safely.
