Fatal crash at OB Flat

A girl has died after a crash at OB Flat yesterday afternoon.

At 3.15pm on Saturday 27 June, police were called to Glenelg River Road after reports of a crash between a Honda sedan and a cyclist.

The cyclist, a 17-year-old girl from Compton sadly died at the scene.

Major Crash officers attended the scene to examine the circumstances of the collision.

Road closures were in place for several hours however they have since re-opened.

The driver of the Honda, a 23-year-old man from Mount Gambier was arrested on Sunday 28 June and charged with causing death by careless use of a vehicle. He was granted bail to appear in the Mount Gambier Magistrates Court at a later date.

The girl’s death is the 54th life lost on South Australian roads this year.
