Serious consequences for driver involved in motorway crash

A man has been reported for numerous traffic offences after a two-car crash on the motorway today.

About 8am Monday 24 November, a two-car collision between a Mitsubishi sedan and a Ford ute occurred on the North South Motorway near Dry Creek.

No-one was injured but the driver of the Ford ute allegedly failed to stop at the crash scene and continued driving south.

Police found the ute with extensive damage and abandoned on the motorway at Croydon.

Police attended at the registered owner's address and spoke to the driver. He refused to provide a breathtest and was issued with a 12-month loss of licence. His car was also impounded.

The 53-year-old Beverley man was reported for driving in a dangerous manner; with an expired licence, refusing an alcotest, failing to report a crash and exchange details with the other driver. He will face court at a later date.
