Motorcyclist arrested at Morphett Vale

About 11.45pm on Wednesday 2 September, patrols were conducting duties on Flaxmill Road, when they spotted a small black off-road motorcycle without registration plates, lights and the rider did not have a helmet.

The rider failed to stop when police attempted to pull it over and continued through a number of nearby streets.

The rider then abandoned the bike near Felix Crescent and run from the area but was quickly located and arrested.

During a search of the man, police allegedly located drug paraphernalia and a slingshot.

The 33-year-old Morphett Vale was driver tested and returned a blood alcohol reading of 0.181, more than three times the legal limit.

He was charged with fail to stop, drink driving, riding an unregistered and uninsured motor vehicle, and other offences.

The motorcycle was impounded and he was issued a 12-month immediate loss of license notice.

He will be bailed to appear in the Christies Beach Magistrates Court at a later date.
