Drink driver stopped at Smithfield

About 9.20pm on Sunday 20 September, police stopped a Kia sedan on Main North Road for the purpose of a driver test.

Police will allege the driver a 23-year-old-man from Evanston Park returned a positive result of 0.136.

Checks on the driver's licence showed that he was a current holder of a learner's permit.

The driver was reported for drink driving and breach of his learner's permit. He was issued with a six-month instant loss of licence notice.

He will be summonsed to appear in court at a later date.
