Driver charged over Norton Summit crash

Emergency services were called to Colonial Drive just before 10.30pm on Wednesday 5 August by reports of a single-vehicle crash.

A Toyota sedan lost control, went down an embankment, crashed into a tree and rolled in the wet conditions.

The driver, a 25-year-old Richmond man, and his two passengers, an 18-year-old Basket Range man and a 17-year-old Norton Summit boy, were all taken to hospital by ambulance.

The youngest passenger was the most seriously injured however his condition is not believed to be life-threatening.

Following investigations, Road Policing Section officers this morning arrested and charged the driver with causing serious harm by careless driving.

He was bailed to appear in the Adelaide Magistrates Court on 16 September.
