29 Oct 2026 9:40am

Police have charged a woman and reported a man after they were caught trespassing on a construction site in Christie Downs.

Just after 7pm on Wednesday 28 October, police were called to Stephen Crescent, Christie Downs, after reports of people unlawfully on a construction site.

When patrols arrived, they observed two people within the premises. On seeing police, the pair allegedly threw a backpack over a fence and attempted to leave the area.

Police located and spoke with a man and woman nearby before conducting further enquiries.

Officers later located and searched the discarded backpack. Inside, police allegedly found a box of brand-new tech screws with delivery documentation attached, along with a quantity of loose screws and metal fixings.

About 7.40pm, police attended a residential address and arrested a 52-year-old Christie Downs woman. She was charged with being unlawfully on premises and theft. She was granted bail and will appear in the Christies Beach Magistrates Court on 26 November.

A 66-year-old Glenelg North man present at the address was reported for being unlawfully on premises and will be summonsed to appear in court at a later date.

Police remind the community that anyone who witnesses suspicious behaviour can contact the Police Assistance Line on 131 444 or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
