A man has been arrested after police located suspected stolen copper cable in the back of a ute this morning.
Just after 4am on Friday 12 September, police conducted a traffic stop on Holden ute on Clovelly Avenue.
It will be alleged the driver initially failed to stop and attempted to evade police before he was successfully intercepted a short distance later.
A search of the Holden revealed a large quantity of industrial copper cabling in the tray of the ute, along with tools suspected of being used to commit theft offences.
The driver, a 41-year-old Christies Beach man was arrested and charged with theft and possessing an article to commit an offence.
He was bailed to appear in court at a later date.
