Hoon reported at Aldinga Beach

23 Oct 2026 6:50am

A hoon driver has been reported and had his car impounded after he was caught doing burnouts at Aldinga Beach last night.

About 8.30pm on Thursday 22 October, police received reports of vehicles speeding and hoon driving on the Aldinga Beach foreshore.

When police arrived, they observed a white Holden utility doing a burnout on the sand for an extended period.

Police stopped the driver, an 18-year-old man from Henley Beach South, and checks revealed he was disqualified from holding or obtaining a driver's licence.

The driver was reported for misuse of a motor vehicle and driving while disqualified. His Holden ute was impounded for 28 days and he will be summonsed to appear in court at a later date.

Southern District Police remain committed to the safety of beach users and remind drivers that local drive-on beaches are classified as road-related areas. Motorists are expected to drive responsibly, obey all applicable road laws and maintain a safe speed for the conditions.

Dangerous driving and hoon behaviour on our beaches not only endanger the driver but also other beach users and can result in significant penalties, including vehicle impoundment, loss of licence and court prosecution.
