Drink driver crashes car at Aberfoyle Park

Just before 3am today (Monday 31 August) police and emergency services were called to Hub Drive after reports of a Honda sedan crashing into a power transformer and catching fire.

The damage caused a power outage in the area affecting nearby residential addresses.

The driver, a 32-year-old man from Aberfoyle Park was submitted to a driver test, providing a positive blood alcohol reading of 0.166.

He was reported for driving without due care and drink driving, issued a 12-month immediate loss of license notice and will attend court at a later date.

Road closures will remain in place until the scene is cleared.
