Two youths arrested at Elizabeth East

Police have arrested two teenage girls following a shop theft at Elizabeth yesterday.

About 11.20am on Friday 15 May, it will be alleged two teenage girls attended a shopping centre at Elizabeth and stole items from a store. The pair then left the centre together and boarded a bus.

Police from Northern District Response Teams stopped the bus on Kinkaid Road, Elizabeth East, where both youths were located and arrested. During a search, police located two large knives in their possession.

A 17-year-old girl from Brahma Lodge and 16-year-old girl from Munno Para were charged with theft, carry offensive weapon and bail offences.

Both girls bailed to attend the Elizabeth Youth Court at a later date and are now subject to transit barring orders prohibiting them from using public transport.
