A man has been arrested for possessing weapons and other offences last night.

About 9.30pm on Wednesday 14 October, police stopped a cyclist on Gawler Street after seeing him riding without a bicycle light.

While speaking with the man, officers saw a baseball bat inside his backpack and a knife strapped to his chest. A subsequent search located a balaclava, drugs and drug paraphernalia.

The 27-year-old Parafield Gardens man was arrested and charged with four counts of carrying an offensive weapon, possessing an article of disguise and drug offences.

He was bailed to appear in the Elizabeth Magistrates Court at a later date.
