20 Apr 2026 7:35am

A driver has been reported after crashing at Burton overnight.

About 12am on Monday 20 April, police were alerted to a hit-run crash on Kensington Way at Burton where a Toyota Camry sedan collided with a Hilux and failed to stop and exchange details. There were no reports of injury.

Police responded and stopped the vehicle in Barton Crescent where the driver showed signs of being under the influence. He was breath tested and produced a positive roadside breath test and underwent a further blood test.

A 49-year-old man from Blakeview was reported for driving under the influence, driving without due care, leaving the scene of a crash and failing to provide particulars. He is likely to face further charges pending results of the blood test.

He will be summonsed to appear in court at a later date.
