Murray Mallee patrols have detected the following traffic offences over the weekend.

About 6.50pm on Saturday 3 October, police were conducting static driver testing duties on the Princes Highway at Tailem Bend when a white Toyota utility entered the site. The driver, a 34-year-old Rendelsham man, underwent a roadside drug test which allegedly returned a positive result for Cannabis. He was issued with a Driver Direction Notice and may face further police action pending forensic analysis of the sample.

About 5.30pm on Friday 2 October, police detected a white Hyundai station wagon travelling at 122 km/h in a 110 km/h zone on the Sturt Highway at Kingston on Murray. The driver, a 22-year-old Salisbury man, checks revealed he held a Learners class drivers licence. He was issued with an expiation notice for exceeding the speed limit and breaching the conditions of his learner's licence.

About 9.10am on Saturday 3 October, police stopped a silver Toyota sedan on the Sturt Highway at Stockyard Plain after it was detected travelling at 122 km/h in a 110 km/h zone. The driver, a 36-year-old Angle Vale man, underwent a roadside drug test which allegedly returned a positive result for methamphetamine. He was issued with an expiation notice and an immediate three-month loss of licence.

About 9.40pm on Saturday 3 October, police stopped a white Mercedes sedan on the Sturt Highway at Blanchetown after it was detected travelling at 125 km/h in an 80 km/h zone. The driver, a 20-year-old Mount Barker man, was issued with an expiation notice for excessive speed and breaching the conditions of his provisional licence. He was also issued with an immediate six-month loss of licence.

About 9.50pm on Saturday 3 October, police detected a silver Ford sedan travelling at 126 km/h in an 80 km/h zone on the Sturt Highway at Blanchetown. The driver, a 26-year-old Flinders Park man, was found to be driving while his licence was cancelled. He was issued with an expiation notice and an immediate six-month loss of licence.

About 2.50pm on Sunday 4 October, police were conducting breath testing duties on Old Sturt Highway at Barmera when a black Suzuki station wagon entered the testing site. The driver, a 61-year-old Monash woman, allegedly returned a breath analysis reading of 0.089. Her vehicle was impounded and she was issued with an immediate six-month loss of licence. She was reported for drink driving and will be summonsed to appear in the Berri Magistrates Court at a later date.

About 11.30am on Sunday 4 October, police stopped a grey Ford utility on Tonkin Avenue at Barmera. The driver, a 53-year-old Meribah man, underwent a roadside drug test which allegedly returned a positive result for Cannabis. He was issued with a Driver Direction Notice, an immediate three-month loss of licence, and may face further police action pending forensic analysis.

About 12.05pm on Sunday 4 October, police stopped a white Nissan utility on the Sturt Highway at Blanchetown. The driver, a 24-year-old Virginia man, underwent a roadside drug test which allegedly returned a positive result for cocaine. He was issued with an immediate three-month loss of licence and may face further police action pending forensic analysis.

About 11.10am on Monday 5 October, police stopped a brown Mercedes sedan on Murraylands Road at Blanchetown. The driver, a 72-year-old Coromandel Valley man, was found to be driving while his licence was suspended. He was reported for driving while suspended and will be summonsed to appear in the Berri Magistrates Court at a later date.
