01 Jun 2026 4:26pm

Police arrested a man for thefts after being flagged down by a member of the public at Murray Bridge on Friday afternoon.

About 3.30pm on Friday 29 May, police were waived down in a Murray Bridge supermarket by a member of the public in relation to a suspect walking through the mall nearby.

Police arrested the 36-year-old Adelaide man and charged him with three counts of theft and offensive behaviour.

It will be alleged the man had attended three stores and stolen alcohol, sunglasses and an energy drink.  He had his face covered with a mask or bandana and waved a lighter wand at staff.

The stolen items were recovered by police.

The arrested man was bailed to appear in the Murray Bridge Magistrates Court on 14 July.
