Response to Gus Lamont reward announcement

A reward of up to $1 million has been posted for information into the disappearance of four-year-old Gus Lamont.

The reward will be paid for information leading to the conviction of the person or persons responsible for the disappearance of Gus Lamont and/or the recovery of his remains.

The disappearance of Gus Lamont from Oak Park Station on 27 September 2025 was declared a major crime in February 2026.

Since yesterday’s announcement, 34 calls and two emails have been received by Crime Stoppers.

With increased media coverage this week in the lead up to the anniversary of Gus’s disappearance, an additional nine Crime Stoppers calls were received this week prior to yesterday’s press conference.

Major Crime Investigation Branch Officer in Charge Detective Superintendent Darren Fielke encourages anyone with information to come forward.

“Task Force Horizon investigators are pleased with the response we have received so far.  All these reports are currently being assessed and will be investigated further where appropriate,” he said.
