Police support CFS Field Day at Gumeracha

28 May 2026 2:24pm

Officers from Mount Barker Crime Prevention Section recently supported the CFS Region 2 Cadet Field Day at Gumeracha.

The event was held at the Gumeracha Oval on Sunday 24 May, bringing together around 150 cadets and leaders from CFS Region 2 for a day of training and engagement.

Despite wet weather throughout the day, it did not dampen spirits, with cadets enthusiastically taking part in activities.

During the day, officers spoke with cadets about how police assist at incidents and work alongside other emergency services. Cadets had the opportunity to ask questions about interoperability when responding to incidents together, as well as learn more about careers with SAPOL.

The event provided a valuable opportunity for cadets to engage with police, build their understanding of emergency services, and strengthen partnerships between agencies.

SAPOL remains committed to supporting youth development and working closely with partner agencies such as the CFS to help build safer, more resilient communities.
