Drink driver crashes at Victor Harbor

Just after 3.30am on Saturday 12 September, police were called to Torrens Street, Victor Harbor after reports that a Ford station wagon had crashed into a stobie pole.

When patrols arrived, they located the damaged car and found the light pole had been knocked to the ground, leaving exposed electrical wiring.

Fortunately, there were no reports of serious injuries and SA Power Networks attended to make the area safe.

Police identified the driver as a 26-year-old Victor Harbor woman who returned a blood alcohol reading of 0.143 - almost three times the prescribed limit.

The woman was reported for drink-driving, issued with a six month immediate loss of licence notice and her car was towed from the scene.

She will be summonsed to appear in court at a later date.
