Update: Man arrested following Seaton incident

A man has been arrested following an incident at a nursing home in Seaton this morning.

Just after 9.30am on Friday 18 September, police and emergency services responded to reports that a male volunteer assaulted a female staff member.

The woman in her 60s was taken to hospital for treatment of her injuries which are not considered life-threatening.

The man was also taken to hospital for treatment of non-life threatening injuries.

No residents were injured or threatened by the man and police do not believe this was a random incident.

Crime Scene Investigators attended the scene and conducted a forensic examination.

Western District Detectives have arrested an 85-year-old man in relation to alleged offences and will undergo a medical assessment prior to any further police action.
