Police have arrested nine people following an investigation into a violent disturbance in the state's Far North earlier this month.
About 10.50am on Sunday 12 July, police responded to reports of a large group of people fighting at Pukatja (Ernabella) on the APY Lands.
A 59-year-old man from Pukatja, believed to have been involved in the altercation, attended the local clinic for treatment. While receiving medical care, he subsequently died.
Following an investigation into the man's death, including a post-mortem examination, police have determined that his death is not suspicious and was not related to the disturbance. A report will be prepared for the Coroner.
APY Lands police continued their investigation to identify those involved in the disturbance and as a result, arrested and charged the following people –
All were charged with aggravate affray.
