16 May 2026 7:40am

A man has lost his car and licence after being caught drink-driving last night.

About 8.40pm on Friday 15 May, police stopped a Holden sedan on Mckenzie Road. The driver, a 33-year-old man from Indulkana ran from the car but was quickly located a short distance away.

He was subjected to driver testing and provided a blood alcohol result of .166 – more than three times the legal limit.

Checks showed his licence had previously been disqualified.

He was arrested and charged with drink driving, driving unauthorised and driving an unregistered and uninsured car.

The driver was issued a 12-month immediate loss of licence notice and the car was impounded for 28 days.

He was bailed to appear in Court at a later date.
