Three boys have been arrested in Adelaide's CBD this afternoon.
About 5pm on Wednesday 1 July, Police Security Services Branch operators observed a group of seven youths walking through Rundle Mall via CCTV. One of the youths appeared to have a large object concealed down the side of his pants.
Multiple patrols attended and one youths attempted to run from police before being arrested on Grenfell Street. A search located a 53cm stainless steel machete and a balaclava in his possession.
The 12-year-old Tea Tree Gully boy was charged with possessing a prohibited weapon, carrying an article of disguise and refusing to provide his personal details.
A 15-year-old boy was also arrested and charged with breaching geographical bail conditions and carrying an article of disguise.
A second 15-year-old boy from Craigmore was arrested after attempting to open a police vehicle containing the other two youths. He was charged with hindering police, interfering with a motor vehicle and carrying an article of disguise.
All three boys were bailed to appear in the Adelaide Youth Court at a later date.
