Police have arrested two youths following a crash in the northern suburbs overnight.
At 1.40am on Saturday 16 May, police were called to Montague Road after reports a BMW sedan had been driving erratically before crashing into a tree.
Witnesses reported five occupants, believed to be teenagers, fled the scene on foot.
Checks confirmed the BMW had been stolen from a Sheidow Park address yesterday morning.
Patrols attended and searched the area finding items belonging to those involved.
A Mitsubishi station wagon believed to be assisting the group was stopped a short time later in the area. Two youths were arrested, a 17-year-old girl from Blair Athol and a 16-year-old girl from Woodville West.
They were charged with illegal interference of a motor vehicle and investigations to locate the other suspects are continuing.
The youths were bailed to appear at the Elizabeth Youth Court on 3 July.
The BMW was towed from the scene and police urge those involved to attend a hospital if injured.
