19 Apr 2026 2:51pm

Two men were arrested yesterday after stealing a parcel delivery vehicle from Northfield.

Just after 9.30am on Saturday 18 April, a man was delivering parcels on Rowe Avenue at Northfield when two people got into his Toyota Rav4 and drove off.

The vehicle contained approximately 225 parcels at the time of the theft.

Later that day, about 12.30pm, Eastern District police and Dog Operations Unit attended a home at Pooraka.

Police located the stolen RAV4 in the driveway of the home along with two men who had been unloading parcels out of the car. Half of the parcels had already been opened and were found in the front yard.

A 45-year-old man from Hillcrest and a 22-year-old man from Pooraka were charged with illegal use of a motor vehicle and theft. They were bailed to appear in the Elizabeth Magistrates Court on 21 May.
