A driver has been arrested after running from the scene of a crash in the CBD overnight.
Just before 8.40pm on Saturday 3 October police attempted to stop a Mercedes sedan on Torrens Road towards the CBD however the driver refused to stop.
The Mercedes was last seen travelling north on Main North Road.
Around 9pm on the same night, patrols were called to Peacock Road in Adelaide following reports a Mercedes sedan was travelling at speed before hitting a curb and crashing into a tree.
Witnesses reported the driver had run from the scene shortly after the crash.
Patrols were quick to the area and set-up cordons before the driver returned to the scene where he was arrested.
The 36-year-old man is expected to be charged with engaging in a police pursuit, driving without due care and other traffic offences.
