Drunk driver reported after near miss with police in Barossa

About 4.40pm on Saturday 5 September, Nuriootpa police were travelling along Jubilee Avenue, Angaston, when a Mitsubishi SUV reversed out of a driveway into the path of a marked police car.

Police subsequently stopped the SUV and submitted the driver to a breath test.

The 64-year-old Angaston man allegedly returned a positive result of 0.124.

He was reported for drink driving, issued with a six-month instant loss of licence and his vehicle was impounded for 28 days.

The man will be summonsed to appear in court at a later date.
