A driver has been arrested following a crash at Gawler East overnight.
About 12.10am on Saturday 1 August, police were called to Edith Steet after reports a car had crashed into a parked car before driving off again.
Gawler patrols attended and after following tyre marks, they located the suspect vehicle and its driver in Blanch Street. The Holden sedan had extensive damage to the front left of the vehicle.
The driver was breath tested and allegedly produced a blood alcohol reading of 0.230, almost five times the legal limit for a fully licensed driver.
A 19-year-old man from Willaston was reported for reported for aggravated driving without due care, driving while disqualified and drink driving.
The man’s car was impounded and he will be summonsed to appear in court at a later date.
